Dr Teoh Tiong Ann is a general surgeon practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. He specialises in the treatment of colon and rectal cancers. He also treats anal conditions such as piles, fistulae (abnormal connections) and fissures (tears). Dr Teoh is also able to perform keyhole surgeries such as gall bladder removal, appendix removal, large intestine surgery, and endoscopic procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr Teoh attained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 1985 under a Singapore Government Public Service Commission Merit Scholarship.
He then went on to train in general surgery and was awarded a Singapore Government Fellowship to pursue a Masters of Medicine in Surgery. He then became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK and a fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore after advanced training.
Dr Teoh was subsequently awarded a Singapore Government Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to pursue subspecialty training in colorectal surgery at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Florida, USA.
Dr Teoh was a founding member of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia and of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons in Singapore, as well as a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS). At ASCRS, he has also served as a council member of the technologies committee
